Day Surgery Learning Report

• My responsibilities were to observe day surgery
• Day surgery is where the patients that are getting ready to go to surgery stay or if they are just doing a minor surgery. Also learning how to wrap a third degree wound around it
• The first patient was very interesting because she has a wound that got really infected and i saw how the nurse took care of it. Even though it looked disgusting, I was amaze and interested when I saw how big and deep her wound was.
• The nurse I was with first was done for the day so I followed another nurse but she was just prepping the patient to go into surgery.
• This week was fair because I felt like I actually saw something from the first patient but barely saw anything with the second. I thought I was going to see more surgery related stuff in this unit.
